Pupil Parliament
Pupil Parliament 2025-2026
From Year One through to Year Six, during an annual vote, two children from each class are elected by their peers to represent them as members of the Pupil Parliament. The representitives meet regularly with Mrs Hough to ensure pupil voices are heard and so children can see themselves making a positive change and impact on the day to day life of our school.
As a Pupil Parliament we aim to:
· listen to everyone’s ideas and to give every child a voice
· discuss ideas for school improvements
· organise competitions throughout the year
Our goals for the academic year 2025-2026 will be:
- To provide more recycling bins around the school/in the hall and outside.
- To organise events to raise awareness/money for charity – charity voted on as Francis House Children’s Hospice - Francis House Children's Hospice
- To organise events and raise awareness of dyslexia in children
- To provide opportunities for discussion of British Values throughout the school including a school vote
- To continue organising Foodbank collection, Children in Need, Red Nose Day.
- To plan Vernon's Got Talent in the summer term
- To plan School Council’s annual ‘Friendship Friday’ during the Summer term.
- To plan competitions throughout the year starting with a Halloween competition – create a decoration for the ‘spooky disco’ Winners and Runners up from KS1 & KS2 – using only recyclable materials.
